To kick start those who've not been out & those who've been only doing the easy lanes, I led a group of 5 (Dave Vaughan, Pete Thomas, Denzil Lowndes and a guest from Nico's lot (hopefully new member) Hugo Clifford) around the Wye valley anti clockwise which means all those fkkg hard lanes are downhill . That's not to say there were no sweaty gnarly sections.
My bike blew its excess gearbox oil all over my engine at the beginmimg, Hugo's bike boiled over at mid day & he boiled over not long after deciding to head off home at 2/3 route.
Denzil hit a tree & broke his headlight shroud taking out the fuse & some wiring so starting & kill switch were intermittent. He chose to go home at 3/4 route.
Dave, Pete & I took in some more including Pant Glas (downhill )
Ice cream in Tinternthen Limekiln again uphill.
Limekiln has had some of the stone steps bashed to make smaller steps and a whole load of apple sized stones strewn about to make the steps area less formidable. I doubt they will stay long
all in all a bloody good days hard trail riding without killing us or the bikes...well not the 4 bangers anyway !!
several walkers some ok-ish some quite sour .

Re: Wye not the hard way round
An excellent day, thanks very much Christoph!
A lot of "hard, but not too hard" type lanes - perfect!! (Suspect could have been a been a very different story on the wet...
Really enjoyed myself.

Brilliant day thanks Chris. My riding style was like a spider on a motorcycle. Good workout for arms and legs.
